When you get home put a weight in the cover tray and set aside on a table or counter. Do NOT put in the sun at this point, and do not water.
- After 3 days, remove the weight and the top tray.
- Add ¼ cup of water to the water tray. The coir will absorb the water through the holes in the bottom of the planting tray. Do not pour water on top of the microgreens, only into the white water tray.
- Place the planter in a windowsill or near a bright window.
- Water every day or two- whenever it looks a little dry. Don’t overwater!
- Harvest your microgreens 7-10 days after you planted them- but don’t forget to taste one each day so you know how the flavor changes while they grow!
- After you have harvested your crop, throw the soil into the compost, out in the garden, or under a bush or tree- there are a lot of wonderful nutrients in the soil, but it cannot be used more than once (Read HERE for more information about microgreen soil).
- Carefully handwash your trays and use them again for your next crop of microgreens!
